Les pages tournent, les livres se ferment...

Il y a un mois tout juste, je refoulais le sol français après avoir passé un peu plus de neuf mois à Los Angeles. Mon chapitre étatsunien s'est donc achevé et depuis, je me réhabitue, tant bien que mal, à ma vie d'ici, même si finalement, j'ai toujours la bougeotte. Je suis rentré de Malte jeudi dernier où j'ai passé deux semaines, et je m'apprête à passer trois semaines en Angleterre...

Ces chapitres d'expérience sont-ils à clore ou doivent-ils continuer ? Coupons la poire en deux, disons que je prends une pause, mais vu que je retourne dans la Cité des Anges très bientôt (février 2008 pour trois mois, mais ma date de départ n'est pas encore arrêtée), je reprendrai la plume pour continuer à vous donner un aperçu de ce que je vivrai là-bas..

Belated Thanks

Time passes and takes me by the hand… away from what I dub my life experience in LA. Time is taking me away from the people, the friends I met there. I therefore could feel melanTonyc. But actually I’m feeling Tonylicious because I’m listening to Greek music as I am writing. The thing is I’ll be back, so no worries. I’ll be back to continue my research but also to have fun with my friends, again.

I’ve spent about nine months in LA, the time of a pregnancy. I am pregnant right now, soon to deliver a second novel and a new me. This new me is the result of everything I have experienced in the City of Angels. I’ve had good times and some bad ones as well – but I’ve never stopped looking forward. And I’m glad you’ve been part of this experience with me. I have one bit of every one of you inside me and the new me will bear the marks of what we have shared, of what we have learnt together. Each of you, in your own way, has shared a part of your life with me, and for that I can only be grateful, for what you’ve given me.

Nine months in a lifetime amounts to practically nothing, but you’ve peopled these nine months like stars people the velvet sky, or more Los Angeles-like, like celebrities people the red carpet on Hollywood Boulevard. You’ve helped me when I needed help, you’ve made me laugh when I wanted to have fun. Between us there has been this gratuitous, selfless and amazing dialogue that I’m constantly yearning for. You’ve covered my heart with a golden layer of Life, and despite the lapses of memory that age will bring, I shall never forget what we’ve shared for if I am the young man I am right now, it is partly thanks to you.
